It is amazing to me the amount of opposition members of the GLBT community face even after the supreme Court has ruled that we are allowed equal rights in our sexuality. Being unable to marry though, I have to say is just the tip of the ice burg here. Now we can get married but we still have a harder time finding jobs. We can get married but we still fear holding hands in public. We can get married....but we are still far from equal.
Members of the community are often faced with things like discrimination for employment. A bitch wan is going to be far less likely to get an office job than the young girl in a skirt, regardless that the butch lesbian is far more qualified for the position .
Bi-sexual people are osticized by most of the community unless they are currently in a same-sex relationship. We even discriminate against ourselfs!
